An exciting full day event for high school students to explore college dance programs nationwide and meet one on one with dance directors, alumni, and students.

* Special thanks to The Harkness Foundation for Dance and
NYC Department of Cultural Affairs for supporting DTCB 2015.
Dancing through College and Beyond is a one of a kind nationwide event, serving over 300 high school students annually. Providing a much needed service to the dance industry and to high school students, Dancing Through College and Beyond offers talented young dancers the opportunity to connect, one on one, with renowned faculty and choreographers from colleges across the country, forming personal connections between the current generation of leading dance professionals and the next. This event helps students fully explore college dance opportunities and to assist them in navigating the college admissions process.
Programming includes discussion panels with distinguished college department chairs and education specialists, dance classes taught by notable college dance faculty, and a college fair where students network with representatives from over 30 college dance departments from all over the United States. Students learn about the wide range of programs offered by various dance departments, and how these programs provide career opportunities that range from professional dancer to dance educator to dance therapist and more. Panel discussions provide practical tips for submitting applications, requesting financial aid, and auditioning.
Two unique aspects of the program include a performance by several participating colleges and new this year, LIVE COLLEGE AUDITIONS for some colleges participating in the event. This is a very special and convenient opportunity for students who cannot travel to schools for college admittance auditions.
Dancewave is proud to work with the historic 92Y Harkness Dance Center and Dance Education Laboratory to provide this opportunity to help students prepare for their future education and careers in dance.
