The Academy takes place at Baruch College, a thriving, internationally ranked institution, located in the heart of New York City, midtown Manhattan. Academy students experience college as they have access to Baruch College’s state-of-the-art campus including the college’s library system and athletic facilities. The Academy takes students on relevant field trips throughout New York City, allowing them to explore their career field of choice and meet with successful industry insiders. Students at the Academy are able to experience the unique culture and customs of New York City, an international hub for finance, fashion, business, and the arts.

Each specialized program at the Academy is specifically designed to prepare high school students for successful careers in a pre-professional study track of their choice. The 2014 Academy offers the following five Programs:

Each track at the Baruch Leadership Academy involves intensive classroom workshops and lectures from distinguished university professors and accomplished professionals. Academy students travel to fieldtrips throughout New York City where they can connect the theories that they learn in the classroom to practice in professional settings.
Prepare for the College Admissions Process
Baruch Summer Leadership Academy students are at an advantage because they are able to develop their passions in an environment that fosters academic enrichment, cultural stimulation, and real world experience. Students receive intensive college preparation that truly gives them the edge that they need to get into America’s top colleges. Rising 10th grade students at the Academy receive daily PSAT preparation, while rising 11th and 12th grade students experience daily SAT preparation. Test preparation courses feature content in critical reading, mathematics, as well as writing sections of the exams.
Daily Schedule
Baruch Summer Leadership takes places from Monday through Friday from 9AM – 4PM. On Monday through Thursday students follow the following schedule:

The Academy reserves Fridays for field trip exploration throughout New York City. During the 2013 Baruch Summer Leadership Academy, students visited landmarks such as Wall Street, Times Square, and Grand Central in addition to various museums, corporations, law firms, businesses, colleges, and professional schools throughout Manhattan.
Admissions
The application for the 2014 Baruch Summer Leadership Academy consists of a high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, an online application. International students must also submit financial support documentation for visa purposes. Competitive applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis beginning in January 2014.
